Love, Care, and Compassion
Every animal is special, and every domestic animal yearns for a loving home.
UR_KY is here to help find the homes for those domestic animals, who are crammed into rural Kentucky county shelters with little hope for a future. United Rescues of KY works tirelessly to help those shelter animals find good rescues, wonderful foster homes and ultimately, a loving home of their own. UR_KY is a coalition of caring people: rescues, shelter directors and employees, transporters, volunteers, foster homes and more. Separate we all work to do our small parts, but together, we are making a big difference in Kentucky, one cat or dog at a time (or horse, or bird or snake....)
There is always need for the homeless animals that pass through URKY's caring embrace. Please, if you can help in any way, tax deductible donations are always welcome, appreciated and very, very much needed. You may also mail checks to URKY - 1708 Houndstooth Glen, Lexington, KY 40515

GOOD NEWS! HANCOCK CO'S NEW ANIMAL SHELTER IS UP AND RUNNING!
Lisa McCormick is proud to announce that the Hancock Co KY Animal Shelter is far enough along in its building that it is now housing dogs! Per Lisa: "The kennel part is finished and the office and cat room is under construction. We are proud of the nice building we now have for our animals. We received a wonderful donation from URKY via Bev Watson (GoodWags) of fleece blankets. How nice this is for the dogs! Thank you URKY!" Some of you will recall that before Lisa's involvement, the shelter was made up of kennels on an open flat bed truck, with a roof over them. This is wonderful news!

Please visit our member Emergencies! page to see where you can help. Warning: Pictures on this page are often graphic.
The donation links on this page go directly to the organization in need for their immediate use and not to United Rescues of Kentucky, Inc. Thank you.
