CHANCE UPDATE 5/21/09
You will remember Chance, the tiny pup found dying in a Corbin pet store/torture chamber. Bred by the owners, allowed to suffer, he had no chance until Jackie Pullum came along ....Jackie took him and vetted him and gave him all she could, but the damage was done, little Chance succumbed. URKY became involved when Jackie contacted us for help; we got Chance's two siblings out of this store and helped her tell his story. Jackie has been maligned by Corbin city and county officials as they tried to distort her truth. ALDF later got involved and has been working with Jackie as well. Today, Jackie went to file suit against the pet store owner. Per Jackie, the suit has not yet been filed, but Chance's story will be told tonight on CH 36, who were with Jackie at the courthouse. Michelle Rausch (I hope I spelled that right) will have this info on her Channel 36 blog this afternoon; we don't know if the story will air tonight or later, but the blog will be posted. Please, check it out. Chance's death WILL serve a purpose; his story WILL bring change.

CHANCE'S STORY
Chance's Story started on 2/15/09 when he was found, dying, in that awful pet store in Corbin, KY. Sadly, Chance succumbed on 2/19.
UR_KY contacted authorities and hoped the ALDF would help bring justice to the people who did this to Chance. but justice is slow. Chance had siblings at two of the pet stores, and UR_KY bought them to keep them safe, and as evidence. They are in safe places being well cared for. UR_KY is raising funds to recoup the costs of buying the puppies; to keep them safe, as evidence, to pay for sibling puppies, vetting them, vetting Chance, ultimately spaying and neutering the pups before good homes are found, and sadly, we'd like to cover the cost of cremating Chance so his ashes can go home to the one person who tried to save him, Jackie. Please donate to this cause. Any funds received and not needed for Chance's Story, will go to the UR_KY emergency vetting fund. ALL funds donated to UR_KY are used 100% for the animals, we take no salaries or expenses, and all donations are tax deductible. Thank you for reading Chance's Story.
TRAGIC UPDATE: Chance's brother, who was at the same store location with Chance, has not survived despite valiant efforts, so this tragedy is doubled. Please check this site often; there will be a 'call to arms' for help bringing this unscrupalous breeder/store owner to justice!
