10/30 UPDATE- CARROLL CO HOARDER/ABUSE CASE:
ALL OF THE ANIMALS FROM THIS CASE, WHO DID NOT HAVE TO BE EUTHANNIZED DUE TO BAD HEALTH, ARE SAFE AND IN GOOD HANDS. I DO THINK SOME RABBITS ARE STILL LOOKING FOR HOMES, BUT ARE IN SAFE HANDS IN THE MEANTIME. TRIAL HAS NOT OCCURRED YET.

A GOOD UPDATE ON A BAD TAIL..........
9/29 Update Rockcastle Hoarder Dogs: These wee ones have now been released by the courts to URKY! These dogs, now healthy are ready to go into new and loving homes! Thanks Bev Briggs of RAIN for your great help and to the amazing Rockcastle Co. Deputy Sheriff Ed Brock who would not back off this case, and to Assistant CA Jerome Fish II for finally setting these dogs free! The case will be heard in November.
9/15 Update: The poor dogs confiscated are still in loving foster homes as the courts procrastinate. Hearings have been postponed until November!! URKY is working very hard to get the dogs released into waiting homes prior to the hearing. Some still require vet care, but most are thriving in their new environments. Vet care costs have exceeded our funds.
Mt. Vernon, KY (6/29). Almost 40 dogs, in terrible health, were confiscated from a hoarder. URKY agreed to take care of all their veterinary and housing needs while the hoarder awaits court hearings. You've helped us raise nearly $3,200 of the $7,500 needed for their vet care and related expenses, and we surely thank you. We wanted to share some GOOD news with you, regarding this sad, sad story.
These two Great Danes are two of the victims. We wanted you to see what your donations, advice and good thoughts have done to help these dogs! And we want to give a special thanks to all the volunteers who have many of these dogs in their foster care; they are the healers (7/19 update).
